Year 7 Shared Education in St. Brigid’s with Leaney PS
23rd January 2020
What a fantastic two days of fun learning we had with our friends in Leaney PS! The Nerve Centre visited our school to teach us all about movie making through animation and green screen technology with the legend of Fionn McCool as our theme. It was brilliant. We first created our ‘assets’, which were our characters in the story. Next we learned, using the iMotion app on the ipads, how to create a moving storyboard by setting up and taking lots and lots of still frames in sequence. When we played it altogether it was amazing seeing our still character running and throwing and moving about the screen. We also recorded voiceovers for the story script, donning funny green screen headwear in order to just have our faces showing to be super-imposed onto the storyboard. A large scale green screen was set up also so we could be part of the story throwing boulders and walking across the Giants’ Causeway.
We are so excited to see the finished product and get it uploaded to the website for everyone to enjoy.
Thank you so much to the Nerve Centre for facilitating such an exciting and innovative Shared Education project with our friends in Leaney PS. An amazing couple of days!!
