Mary Queen of Peace Primary School, Glenravel

PTA

St. Brigid's PTA is a very important part of our school community. This year we have endeavoured to ensure that each year group in the school is represented by a parent. We are very proud that these representatives are not restricted to just mums but that fathers have also come on board (there is also a grandparent on our committee this year).

The PTA is not just about raising funds as it is an opportunity to meet other parents and become actively involved in promoting St. Brigid's within the local community.

As a group we meet approximately once a term. We welcome new members at any time of the school year. Come along with someone you know or talk to an existing member or Mrs Campbell. There is usually a cup of tea but biscuits not always guaranteed!

Fund raising events are an important part of the school calendar and are successful, not only in terms of monies raised but also because they involve pupils, staff, parents, extended family and friends. The PTA organise our main annual fundraiser at Christmas time which is the Bazaar and Santa's Grotto. This year the children were treated to a disco at half term.

Our fundraising this year will help purchase and provide:

  • Lots of new playground equipment
  • Pop corn for a movie day in the lead up to Christmas
  • Supplement Leaver hoodies and leaver packs
  • Fun and an ice-cream van visit
  • PTA buys cakes for First Holy Communion and Confirmation.

Dates and times of PTA meetings will be posted on website and in school newsletter.

Any new members wishing to assist in supporting the school through the PTA are more than welcome and can contact the school for further information.
