Walk, Scoot or Cycle Trek!
16th June 2016
This fundraising event aimed to build on the amazing progress we have made as a school to promote walking and cycling.
Y4, Y5, Y6, Y7 & CB walked, pushed their scooters or cycled around Riverside Park. Parents, family & friends helped us on our way. It was amazing to see 64 pupils cycling over the new bridge to the Riverside Park. The pupils understood the code of conduct and respected the roles of adult front and back riders. Of course, we cannot forget all those children who walked and used their scooters. We all enjoyed refreshments at the half way mark and a short spell in the playground before making our way back to school. We want to thank all the parents, grandparents and other family members who helped us supervise the children and keep them safe. In the afternoon, Y1, Y2, Y3 & Class A walked, went on scooters or cycled along a track from St. Brigid's to Our Lady of Lourdes whilst the older children and parents cheered them all on! The whole event finished with an exciting treat from the PTA as they had organised for an ice-cream van to arrive...we all loved that!
