P5 Downhill Trip

Primary 5 had a great trip to Downhill Estate, guided by Lisa from The National Trust. We got to explore the estate through a series of clues and scavenger hunts. We visited the Ice House and Dovecote, the walled gardens, the Mausoleum, the Belvedere, the ruined palace and Mussenden Temple.
We gained an understanding into how a large estate like this was run and managed, as well as learning the local history of the Earl Bishop who once lived there. We enjoyed the beautiful views of the Causeway Coast, Downhill Beach and Donegal, and even spotted some cute newborn lambs.
