Our Big Outdoor Learning Day
6th June 2017
Our Big Outdoor Learning Day on Wednesday 31st May was a huge success and we were so blessed with the weather! It was a busy day…digging, pushing wheel barrows, making a scarecrow, and planting raised beds, window boxes and wild meadows.
We were delighted to have received funding from the Learning Through Landscapes Project to make St. Brigid’s a more friendly environment for pollination. We thank their support officer, Rachel for her support and guidance.
We would also like to thank those parents who brought in young calves, kittens, rabbits and even a snake!
The bio-diversity officer from Causeway Coast and Glens Council made pots and bird boxes with pupils, while the Water Bus staff taught children all about water treatment. Sustrans were also back to teach pupils how to look after their bikes and how to ride without stabilisers.
A big thank you to the PTA who provided two big inflatable assault courses! The photographs and video clearly show that this was a wonderful day!
