Disability Sports NI Class A & B
17th January 2020
Class A and B took part in 3 sessions delivered by Disability Sports NI. The purpose of these sessions were to highlight an awareness of different disabilities that people may have. We had the opportunity to partake in fun games to foster working together. We used blindfolds to try to get an understanding of what it would be like if we had no sight or limited sight. In session 3 we then got to experience using wheelchairs. This helped us not only to see what it would be like to be confined to a wheelchair but through the wheelchair basketball, we also could see how we would be able to join in and play the same games as people who are wheelchair dependent.
Each week was full of fun learning and both Class A and B enjoyed the practical element of this. A big thanks to Diane from Disability Sports NI for this!
