Big Bridge

Building Bridges in Year 5!

 

ICE NI (Institute of Civil Engineers Northern Ireland) came to school to help Year 5 build a 14m cable-stayed bridge in our assembly hall! High-visibility jackets and hard hats were worn by the children as they worked together securing nuts, bolts and cables to construct this very impressive bridge. This was a fantastic opportunity for the children, who have been working on the theme ‘Bridges and Beyond’ this term. As the children said themselves, "It was awesome!”
