World War 2 Treasure Box

Joannne from Causeway Coast and Glens Museum Service came to visit Primary four and Class B and she brought with her three exciting boxfuls of WW2 memorabilia.
She talked to us about food rationing, the evacuation of children from the city to the countryside, and we even got to look at photographs and posters dating back to 1940.
The children thoroughly enjoyed trying on helmets and items of clothing from the Second World War and Joanne was great at answering all the questions and queries were had prepared for her.
This workshop was a great way to begin our new topic, ‘Through the eyes of a child.’
