World Maths Day in St. Brigid’s – The Big Outdoors!!

Our focus this year for World Maths Day was extending the children’s learning to the outdoors. Each class has been taking part in maths lessons in and around the school environment- along the corridors, in the playground, our outdoor classroom, on the green, through the Rocky Ramble and even in the flowerbeds! The children undertook a variety of practical, mathematical activities including surveys, a shape hunt, number games, large scale measuring, time challenges and even pricing a job for window fitting!

It was a wonderfully practical and enjoyable mathematical day, full of fun and with lots of learning.
