Our School Council Make Plans for Christmas

Our Pupil Council held a hugely productive socially distanced meeting in the canteen to discuss our plans to celebrate Christmas this year. It is a very different approach to our festive season this year as we are unfortunately unable to hold our annual Christmas show and bazaar. Even our Christmas Countdown in the mornings has to change.

Our Council members, however, have been innovative and not put off even a little bit by all the restrictions we are faced with. After super discussions, the children have come up with a long list of ideas for celebrating Christmas so that all the children in St. Brigid’s have fun and get into the spirit of the season as we approach December.

Here are some of the Council’s ideas:

  • Decorating areas of the school
  • Class Christmas Countdown under the canopy.
  • Virtual Christmas Art Gallery
  • Christmas card competition
  • Christmas jumper Fridays – every Friday in December
  • Class parties in the last week
  • Tuck shop day
  • Movie morning for each class throughout December with popcorn and slushie
  • Decorate our Door for Christmas
  • School video alternative to the Christmas show
