Congratulations to our amazing girls who played some spectacular hockey in this year’s NI Hockey Finals Day at Stormont.

Two wins in our group stage gained us the opportunity to challenge for the Plate. The girls were fantastic all over the pitch, putting on a display of skill, stamina and strength, winning our quarter final against a strong Antrim team, setting up a tough semi-final clash against Victoria.

The match was so exciting and played predominantly in the opposition’s half. We hit the post twice and their goalie pulled off three outstanding saves to prevent us from scoring. It was in the dying seconds of the game when our fate was sealed – a quick break from Victoria down the wing and a strong strike from just inside the scoring zone crossing the line on the hooter into the far corner of the goal, thwarted our ambitions of a Plate final.

Nonetheless, and despite our disappointment, the girls showed wonderful sportsmanship, offering congratulations to the Victoria girls and luck in the final.

It was a fantastic day – the sun was shining and our girls were superb. We were so proud of them. Thank you to Mrs Campbell, Niamh and Diane, and to all our wonderful parents who came to support us on the day.

Well done to Lucie, Michaela, Charley, Lucia K, Lucia H, Iris, Macy and Ailsa.
