Feet First Families Day
15th March 2018
What a fun-filled Feet First Families Day we had last Friday! We began the day with 91% of us travelling actively to school. Wow! We had fantastic support from parents and other family members who joined us on our journey – thank you. We would also like to thank Tesco, who kindly donated the fruit. It was very well-received by everyone in the playground that morning!
All staff members travelled actively to school too, which meant we had a great big empty car park for the day. It would have been a shame not to make use of this space, so each class got out and took part in a fun circuits session throughout the day. There were lots of different stations, although we think the ‘chill-out zone’ under Mr O’Neill’s window proved the most popular of all, as everyone got to relax and soak up the rare sunshine!
The highlight of the day was when everyone came together – from P1 right through to P7 – to dance the Waves of Tory in the playground. It was a fantastic sight to see everyone taking part and having fun. We even got DJ Don to join us in dancing a few steps!
We mustn’t forget the main aim of our day – please consider making active travel to school part of your routine. It’s healthy and fun and it makes a huge difference to the congestion around our school.
