Doherty Cup Semi Final 2017
St Brigid’s PS had a great season playing football. This culminated in the team getting through to the Semi-Final of the Doherty Cup. The game against Ballysally PS was played in the Showgrounds in Coleraine on Thursday the 9th of March. This is the 50th anniversary of the Doherty Cup and it was a privilege to get so far in the competition. On the day St Brigid’s played very well but couldn’t make the breakthrough and score. Ballysally were very strong and caught us out on the break twice in the first half. The players never gave up and battled to the end, testing a very good Ballysally keeper a number of times. In the end it wasn’t to be, losing 4-0, and we wish Ballysally all the best in the final.
